Covering the coast, Burnham Market, Wells, Holt & surrounding villages

Let there be light!

15th November 2023

NNL editor Amanda Loose and writer Sarah Hardy loved the new Luminate attraction at Sandringham, which runs until Christmas Eve

A mile-long accessible woodland trail, through the Royal Estate, is beautifully illuminated with amazing colours and patterns, as gentle music accompanies both you and the light shows. It’s really well done, thoughtful and charming, with plenty for all ages to enjoy including interactive activities along the way and the chance to toast marshmallows on open firepits. Look and listen out for the digitalised woodland creatures, too.

There’s an old-fashioned fairground with a Ferris wheel and helter skelter, a Christmas tree maze and lots of pop-up foodie concessions selling everything from delicious apple crumble and custard, and mulled wine to roasted chestnuts!

Tickets must be prebooked and dogs are not allowed (except for guide dogs or assistance dogs). There’s plenty of parking and the action starts at the visitors’ centre. Wear your boots – and a woolly hat!
