Norwich Castle Museum & Art Gallery is hosting this exhibition, bringing together recent work by eight contemporary artists who share a fascination with how watercolours can capture diverse and often fleeting relationships with light, colour, landscape and history. Works on display include abstract paintings and responses to the natural environment, including Simon Carter’s three watercolours which take fragments of colour and shape from the marshes and waterways of East Anglia as their starting point. Other participating artists include Christopher Le Brun, Melanie Russell and James Faure Walker.

Lynn Museum has gone galactic with this showcase of one of the UK’s finest collections of vintage Star Wars toys and original cinema posters, from 1977 to 1985, owned by Matt Fox. The exhibition includes life-size storm troopers, so be on your best behaviour!

MONTHLY: THEATRE SUNDAYS AT THORNHAM VILLAGE HALL

Enjoy a National Theatre Live Screening at Thornham Village Hall, paired with a two course pre- or post-performance meal at The Orange Tree, just down the road. This monthly event will take place in spring, autumn and winter, with screenings from 4pm. The programme includes The Fifth Step, with Jack Lowden and Martin Freeman on 11 January; Hamlet directed by Robert Hastie on 8 February and The Audience with Helen Mirren as Queen Elizabeth II on 29 March. Theatre and the meal costs £35, the theatre screening only is £10.

Until 28 January: The Viewing Room 05

Contemporary and Country hosts small-scale solo and two-person exhibitions featuring new work by emerging and established East Anglian creatives, at Woolmarket House in King’s Lynn. They’re starting 2026 with a trio of creatives: sculptor Roger Hardy, ceramicist Laura Huston and woodturner and craftsman Tim Plunkett. Roger and Tim use wood as both subject and material whilst Laura takes inspiration from woodland. 

February’s showcase (4 to 28) will bring together paintings by Will Cutts and ceramics by Cecilia Willis; March’s (4 to 28) will combine work by landscape painter Melanie Goemans and fen-based willow weaver Danny Sealey; April’s Viewing Room will juxtapose paintings by Mary Blue with ceramics by Caroline Chouler-Tissier. 13 to 24 January: Tina: The Tina Turner Musical

This West End hit is coming to Norwich Theatre Royal as part of its first ever UK and Ireland tour. Set to a soundtrack of this 12 Grammy Award winner’s iconic hits, discover the story of this global superstar. Presented in association with Tina Turner, written by Olivier Award and Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Katori Hall (The Mountaintop) and directed by the internationally acclaimed Phyllida Lloyd (Mamma Mia!).

Holkham runs these free circular walks – lasting around 90 minutes – on the third Tuesday of the month during the winter. Head to Holkham Beach on 20 January, Wells Beach on 17 February and Holkham Park on 17 March. No need to book, just head to the meeting point for 10am. Note, parking charges apply at all car parks.

23 January: Totally Gaga – The Tribute

‘The Ultimate Celebration of Lady Gaga’ is coming to Princess Theatre, Hunstanton, featuring Georgia Crandon performing hits from Just Dance to Bad Romance, accompanied by a live band and dazzling dancers. 7.30pm.

23 January: Radio Fun

This comedy revue, a light programme of sketches, songs, poems and sound effects is performed in the finest traditions of classic BBC radio shows at Sheringham Little Theatre from 7.30pm, is in aid of The Teenage Cancer Trust and Sheringham Little Theatre.

25 January: Norfolk Symphony Orchestra concert  

Escape to sunnier climes at King’s Lynn Corn Exchange with the NSO. Their first concert of 2026 will open with Gershwin’s Cuban Overture and also feature Ney Rosauro’s Marimba Concerto No.1 with soloist Jordan Ashman, Young Musician of the Year 2022, along with Piazzolla’s Libertango, Villa-Lobos’ Bachianas Brasileiras No.7 and Marquez’s Conga del Fuego Nuevo. 3.30pm.

26 to 31 January: 2:22 A Ghost Story

Following seven West End seasons, a record-breaking UK and Ireland tour and 30 productions across the globe, this stage phenomenon returns to Norwich Theatre Royal as part of its 2026 UK-wide tour (its fourth), starring Natalie Casey, Shvorne Marks, Grant Kilburn and James Bye. 

Jenny believes her new home is haunted, but her husband Sam isn’t having any of it. They argue with their first dinner guests, old friend Lauren and new partner Ben. Can the dead really walk again? Belief and scepticism clash, but something feels strange and frightening, and that something is getting closer, so they’re going to stay up until 2:22… and then they’ll know. Nightly at 7.30pm, with matinees on 28 and 31 January and a captioned performance on 30 January. Recommended for ages 12+.

30 January: RAF Aerial Reconnaissance and Photography in World War II

Freelance educator Mark Taylor will discuss the importance of World War II RAF reconnaissance, and the techniques required to gather crucial intelligence and photography ahead of missions in this talk at Lynn Museum from 2pm.

30 January: The Wonder of Stevie

Head to King’s Lynn Corn Exchange for this celebration of the music of Stevie Wonder. Vocalist Noel McCalla, saxophonist Derek Nash (Jools Holland’s Rhythm & Blues Orchestra) and their world-class band will perform classics including I Wish, Isn’t She Lovely and My Cherie Amour. 7.30pm.

3 February: Cinema Live Westlife 25th Anniversary Concert

Princess Theatre in Hunstanton will be screening this fun-filled evening featuring Westlife at the Royal Albert Hall, celebrating 25 years of chart-topping music. Westlife, joined by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra on a glittering Gatsby-themed stage, will perform favourites including You Raise Me Up and Flying Without Wings. From 7pm.

5 and 6 February: Daisy Pulls It Off

Set in a 1920s girls’ boarding school, this feel-good comedy follows scholarship student Daisy Meredith who faces snobbery, schoolgirl drama, and a hint of mystery as she strives to prove herself, with the help of her fearless friend Trixie. 6 February: Pottery, Pilates and Plates

As Valentines/galentines/malentines approaches, enjoy a morning or afternoon of classes at The Victoria, Holkham – Pilates exercises with Helen Quinn which can be enjoyed by two people together, and create hand-built pottery decorations on a heart theme with Lauren from Moulded from Mud Pottery. 6 February: Coffee Concert – Regency String Quartet

The first of 2026’s King’s Lynn Festival Spring Series brings this London-based quartet to King’s Lynn Town Hall. They’ll perform Mozart’s String Quartet No.19 in C ‘Dissonance’, K.465 and Shostakovich’s String Quartet No.3 in F, Op.73 at 11am. 7 February: Creake Abbey Farmers’ Market

This fantastic monthly market is back! Taking place on the first Saturday of the month from 9.30am to 1pm (except January), you can expect a wide range of stalls from more than 65 local producers and makers, with wares from wine, cakes and bakes, coffee and cheeses, to meats, fruit and veg, chutneys and more. Creake Abbey, near Burnham Market, is also home to a range of lifestyle shops, a café, hair salon and a reformer Pilates studio (check the website for individual opening hours) as well as the Augustinian abbey ruins.

7 February: Georgia Shackleton gig

Violin musician Georgia returns to Deepdale Camping & Rooms for an exclusive sitting room session with guitarist Aaren Bennett at 7.30pm, as part of her ‘From the Floorboards’ album tour. To mark 125 years since Sir Ernest Shackleton first set sail on the Discovery with Captain Scott, Georgia is unveiling a powerful new album rooted in history, music and the sea, which includes tracks recorded on board Discovery.

8 February: Tony Christie The Great Farewell Up Close and Un Plugged Tour

This legendary crooner is coming to King’s Lynn Corn Exchange where he’ll perform tracks from across his career, including Thank You For Being A Friend, Las Vegas and of course, Is This The Way To Amarillo, as well as some covers from the late greats who helped shape his career. Tony’s new album, A New Life, is out now, too, reimagining his biggest hits in a country style. 7.30pm.

11 to 14 February: Absurd Person Singular

Cromer & Sheringham Operatic & Dramatic Society present their production of Alan Ayckbourn’s 1972 award-winning comedy at Sheringham Little Theatre, nightly at 7.30pm plus a matinee on 14 February. It follows three married couples over three Christmas Eves, each in their own kitchen.

13 February: The Irish House Party

The UK tour of this popular Dublin music and dance show is coming to Princess Theatre, Hunstanton, with a traditional song-and-dance celebration dating back to the early 19th century where loved ones were given a final farewell before emigrating. Expect world-class dancing with lightning-fast footwork, musicians on instruments including the guitar, violin, flute and Irish drum, and great banter, from 7.30pm!

18 February: Taylormania – Taylor Swift Tribute

This award-winning extravaganza pays tribute to one of our leading contemporary recording artists. 18 to 21 February: Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story

This multi award-winning West End show first opened in 1989 and is visiting Norwich Theatre Royal as part of its 2026 UK tour. 20 February: Northern Soul and Motown Nights

20 to 22 February: Holt February Film Festival, Holt Community Centre

This year’s theme is ‘Coast – Stories from the Shoreline’, celebrating the power, beauty, and challenges of life by the sea, exploring coastal communities, maritime heritage, and environmental stories through a programme of feature films, documentaries and shorts from across the UK. These will be complemented by talks including Chris Bingham of Coastwatch (20 February, 7pm). 21 February: The World of Gilbert and Sullivan

Norfolk and Norwich Operatic Society present Rodgers and Hammerstein’s musical at Norwich Theatre Royal, telling the story of carnival worked Billy Bigelow who falls for sweet yet naïve Julie Jordan at the carousel. Accompanied by a 26-piece orchestra, the score features much-loved songs including If I Loved You, June is Bustin’ Out All Over and the iconic You’ll Never Walk Alone. 27 February: Coffee Concert – Ariel Lanyi 

Pianist Ariel Lanyi brings a compelling programme of music for the piano to King’s Lynn Town Hall, as part of King’s Lynn Festival’s Spring Series; think Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No.24 in F sharp minor, Op.78, Debussy’s Preludes (a selection from Book II) and Schumann’s Fantasiestücke, Op.12. 1 to 22 March: Cley. Now and Then. A Watercolour Story

John Hurst’s 20th watercolour exhibition at NWT Cley Marshes celebrates 50 years of art, landscape and local ecology at this iconic reserve, which celebrates its centenary this year. John first visited the area in 1972 as an art student and birdwatcher, composing his early coastal watercolours in the figurative style still evident today. A new collection of original watercolours and fine prints will feature. 

As with all his previous exhibitions, John is pleased to pledge a significant percentage commission to the NWT. John’s exhibition Wild Geese and Hollyhocks, also at the reserve, will run from 8 to 21 April.

This award-winning tribute show to Phil Collins will be at Cromer Pier’s Pavilion Theatre at 7.30pm. Audience’s will be treated to renditions of Collins’ greatest hits, including In The Air Tonight, Another Day In Paradise and Sussudio. Chris O’Connell will be joined by a nine-piece band.

7 March: Floragami paper flower making workshop

Join Meg from Floragami for a morning and/or afternoon of papercraft, where you’ll learn how to create potted snowdrops or crocuses from paper. Refreshments and bakes, all materials and pots are included for this workshop in the Education Room at Holkham. No experience necessary but good dexterity is required for the snowdrops as they are small flowers. Open to over 16s.

The Royal Shakespeare Company returns to Norwich Theatre Royal with a new production of Hamlet directed by Rupert Goold, as part of a major national tour, with Ralph Davis in the title role. 15 March: Justin Live – Justin Time to Rock

CBeebies’ Justin Fletcher’s new stage show is calling in at King’s Lynn Corn Exchange. Sing, dance and laugh along with the BAFTA Award-winning star of Something Special, Justin’s House, Gigglebiz and Gigglequiz. 

When DJ Engelbert, the coolest canine in the doghouse, launches a contest to find the best rock song in all the land, Justin and his band – Justin Time to Rock! – are determined to win. But can they get their song to DJ Engy before the sneaky Rock Lord and his sidekick Vulture try to steal it? Enjoy classic favourites and brand-new songs in this high-energy, feel-good family show, at 11am and 2.30pm.

19 March: The West End Tenors

After selling out arenas across Europe, The West End Tenors – who have starred in musicals such as Mamma Mia and The Phantom of the Opera, as well as performing at Windsor Castle for the Royal Family – are coming to Cromer Pier’s Pavilion Theatre as part of their first UK tour, celebrating some of the greatest songs of musical theatre and film. 7.30pm.

19 March: The invention of British art

Art historian Bendor Grosvenor (of the BBC series Britian’s Lost Masterpieces and Fake or Fortune), pictured, will reassess the history and development of British art from 10,000BCE to the 19th century as part of King’s Lynn Festival’s Spring Series. The talk will take place at King’s Lynn Town Hall at 7pm.

20 to 22 March: Cromer Music Festival

A new festival promising a weekend celebration of classical music is coming to Cromer Parish Hall, with three concerts by Gemini, an internationally renowned group of musicians. The programmes will be diverse, with music by contemporary composers such as John Hopkins and Nicola LeFanu and composers with East Anglian connections, to works by Beethoven and Peter Maxwell Davies. There will also be two workshops – one in composition for 18s and under, the other for competent saxophonists of any age (grade V or equivalent).

21 March: Fakenham Choral Society’s Spring Concert 

Fakenham Choral Society will perform Louis Vierne’s Messe Solonnelle and Matthew Coleridge’s Requiem from 7pm at Fakenham Parish Church. Booking will open 10 weeks before the event.

22 March: Stories

Associate conductor Daphne Delfas will take up the baton for this Norfolk Symphony Orchestra concert at King’s Lynn Corn Exchange, opening at 3.30pm with Rossini’s William Tell Overture, followed by Grieg’s enchanting Peer Gynt Suite No.1, including Morning Mood. Internationally acclaimed viola soloist Milena Simovic will join the orchestra to perform Berlioz’s Harold in Italy.

6 May: An afternoon with Paul Martin

The presenter of BBC’s Flog It (who is also head of valuations at premier auctioneers Henry Alridge & Son Ltd) will be at Cromer Pier Pavilion Theatre, with a meet and greet at 1pm where hand-held objects can be valued, followed by a theatre talk at 3pm, where Paul will discuss his career in TV and antiques, plus a q&a session and book signing.
