Six new stays for 2026

20th January 2026

From recent additions to the books to a stylish transformation or two, here’s our roundup of some of the latest places for a North Norfolk staycation

The architectural one

Greentiles, Sheringham

This 1930s Art Deco style villa – a new addition to Norfolk Hideaways’ portfolio – is situated on the edge of the Norfolk Coast Path, just a short walk from the seaside town of Sheringham. Packed with character and modern features, the property sleeps six in three bedrooms (two of which are on the ground floor, along with a family bathroom). Upstairs, there’s the master bedroom, a dressing room and en suite, plus a sun deck with sea views. No pets.

Don’t miss Sheringham’s Blue Flag beach and a ride of the North Norfolk Railway heritage line.

The secluded one

The Old Grain Store, Fring

A redundant barn – down its own 1km driveway on the Fring Estate – has been transformed into a stylish open-plan, four-bedroom house which is available to book for stays from March 2026. Clad in larch from the Estate, it’s set amongst fields and woodlands, boasts a woodland sauna, heated outdoor swimming pool and landscaped gardens, and sleeps eight, with four bedrooms and three bathrooms (including a downstairs bedroom). Two dogs welcome.

Don’t miss The award-winning Old Store bakery and coffee shop, which is set to open a branch on the Fring Estate this spring.

The cosy one

Manor Cottage, Sedgeford

This recently renovated carrstone bolthole, complete with an eye catching pink front door, has recently joined the Simply Norfolk Stays portfolio. Sleeping two, the interiors marry the traditional and contemporary beautifully; think exposed beams and stone, a wood burner and neutral decor. Outside there’s a secure, pretty, split-level garden. Two small dogs are welcome.

Don’t miss Step back in time and walk on the historic Peddars Way which travels through Sedgeford, a 49-mile route following a Roman road from Suffolk to Holme-next-the-Sea, where it meets the Norfolk Coast Path.

The one for explorers

Hill Farmhouse, Holkham

Situated on the Holkham Estate, this luxurious farmhouse is now on Norfolk Cottages’ books. Sleeping eight, with four bathrooms (including a bedroom and bathroom downstairs), this is great for gatherings, with two wood burners, a snug, a large, fully equipped kitchen diner, plus outdoor space. Up to three dogs are welcome – you and they will love nearby Holkham beach!

Don’t miss Exploring nearby Holkham Park and, if you time your visit right, a look around its six-acre walled garden and magnificent Palladian Hall.

The one on the coast

Close Cottage, Brancaster Staithe

Newly extended and renovated, this property, with Sowerbys Holiday Cottages, is just a short walk from Brancaster Staithe harbour and the Norfolk Coast Path. Sleeping six in three bedrooms (each with their own contemporary bath/ shower room), this light and airy let features a new kitchen with bifold doors opening out to an enclosed courtyard garden (bonus points for the washing station for boots, sandy feet and dogs); there’s a utility room, and wood burner in the spacious sitting room. Two dogs welcome.

Don’t miss Stroll along the Norfolk Coast Path to take in the harbour views and why not try the circular walk which takes in Barrow Common, too (search www.nationaltrust.org.uk ‘Brancaster Staithe wildlife walk’).

The one for foodies

Pinewoods, Holme-next-the-Sea

Pinewoods caravan park in Wells has a new sister site in Holme, a village known for its beautiful beach and wonderful birdwatching opportunities at the Norfolk Wildlife Trust’s Holme Dunes Nature Reserve. Guests can book either one of the Sea Lavender luxury caravan holiday homes, each sleeping six or Samphire, which sleep between six and eight (dog-friendly available for both). Outside, expect wrap-around decking with outdoor furniture; inside you’ll find stylish interiors, a master bedroom with en suite, a fully equipped kitchen, gas central heating, and more.

Don’t miss Breakfast from the artisan bakery at neighbouring White Horse Holme and lunch or dinner in this Grade II listed pub. Head chef Gabe Lea’s menus are always a treat!
